KTM Duke has been a hot favorite among youngsters in the country. The international bike-maker currently sells the 200cc and 390cc variants of the Duke variant in the country. The Dude 200 seemed to have affected Bajaj's own Pulsar 200 line, even though both the bikes were offered in different price segments. Recently KTM has also unveiled 'Midnight Black' color variant of Duke 390 in the country, the orange Tellis frame very well compliments the black shade. As per the new price update post relief in Excise duty, the KTM 200 Duke is now offered at a price of Rs. 1,30,787 (Ex-Showroom New Delhi), the company has reduced the price to almost Rs. 4,500. The company has offered discount of about Rs. 5600 for Duke 390, bringing down the overall cost to Rs. 1,80,942 (Ex-Showroom New Delhi). Mr. Amit Nandi, KTM Vice President, Bajaj Auto Limited, said, “We have decided to pass on the entire benefit of the excise duty cut to our customers. Sales of both the 200 and the 390 Duke has been constantly on the rise and the revised prices will ensure even faster growth.”
The KTM Duke 390 is powered by a 375 cc engine that generates power of about 44 PS with 35 Nm of torque. The Duke 200 is powered by a 200 cc engine that generates about 25 Ps of power with 19.2 Nm of torque. The four stroke engine is mated to six-speed gearbox. Smart rider position, powerful engine and mere curb weight of 154 kilos (390cc)/129.5 kilos (200cc) , gives you a rocket start from standstill. The Duke 390 bike features ABS technology, thereby allowing you to be in full control while riding at high speeds on a known or unknown road stretches. As per sources, the bike-maker has started taking orders for the new 'Black' variant of 390, and it is anticipated that deliveries may begin from February.
At a recent event 'Black' Duke 390 had been unveiled in the country, Amit Nandi, vice president Probiking, said, “Packing in 44PS of power and 35Nm of torque and weighing only 154 Kg (kerb weight), the 390 Duke has truly been India’s first mid-size sports bike. With the introduction of the new black color KTM fans will have the option of choosing a color that expresses them best. The new 'Midnight Black' shaded KTM Duke 390 is expected to be priced around 1.86 lakhs (ex-showroom New Delhi).” The bike also boasts of fully electronic ignition system with a digital ignition timing adjustment function. Based on reports, the bike clocks a 100 km/hr in nearly 5.5 seconds and is capable of attaining unbelievable speed of 168 km/hr.
