      Kawasaki Versys 1000 and ER-6n to make Indian debut in 2014

      Bike aficionados have a great reason to rejoice as there are rife speculations that Kawasaki is planning to chip in Versys 1000 and ER-6n bikes in the country soon. Recently, Kawasaki launched four bike models in the Indian market. The bike maker first launched Ninja ZX-10R and Ninja ZX-14R models, which were then followed by Z1000 and Ninja 1000. It is also planning to launch Z800 in January 2014. Good news for all bike lovers is that the company does not want to stop this new-bike quest here. Rather, it looks forward to showcase Versys 1000 and ER-6n models too in the country in 2014. Notably, the former has been offered from adventure series while the latter is a naked version of Ninja 650.

      The Kawasaki Versys 1000 motorcycle has been specially designed to give a hassle-free on-road performance in any condition. This is certainly a claim that many would like to check themselves once this bike is offered in the Indian market. Versys 1000 is powered by a 1043 cc liquid-cooled engine, which has the potential to generate a maximum power of 116 bhp with torque of up to 102 Nm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox, which adds to its performance. Versys 1000 has an aluminium twin-tube frame for strength. This bike has a wheelbase of 1,520 mm, ground clearance of 155 mm and seat height of 845 mm. It has got a fuel tank that can hold 21 litres of petrol.

      Kawasaki ER-6n is especially tuned to get the feel of city roads. This bike gets its power from a 649 cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke parallel twin engine, which can deliver a peak power and torque outputs of 71.1 bhp and 64 Nm, respectively. The engine has been mated to a 6-speed transmission system. The ER-6n has been designed on a perimeter, high-tensile steel frame. This bike has a wheelbase, ground clearance and seat height of 1,410 mm, 130 mm and 805 mm, respectively. The fuel tank capacity of this bike is 16 litres. According to the information available from different sources, Kawasaki Versys 1000 is more likely to be put on display at Kawasaki showrooms in Pune by June 2014. The other bike ER-6n is expected to be introduced in India thereafter.
