Isuzu Motors has inaugurated its first showroom in North India, New Delhi and also launched D-Max pick range in the capital at a prelusive price of Rs 5.89 lakh, Rs 6.09 lakh and Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom NCR). With the launch of new dealership of the auto maker in New Delhi it now has 10 dealerships in the country. The company is now eyeing at widening its dealership network in India. Company officials have confirmed that they are planning to inaugurate 60 showrooms in the country by the end of FY 2015-2016.
Isuzu Motors is keen at opening new dealerships in Noida, Jaipur, Ludhiana by the end of current financial year, the company plans to open dealerships in other cities including Chandigarh, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Lucknow, Kanpur and Udaipur by the of next year.
The company is also building its manufacturing unit in India for which it has invested a whopping amount of Rs 3,000 crore. The production at the manufacturing unit is likely to commence from 2016. Presently, the company produces its pick-up trucks at Hindustan Motors’ manufacturing facility located in Chennai.
Speaking at the inauguration of New Delhi dealership, Takashi Kikuchi, Managing Director, Isuzu Motors India said "We are extremely happy to open our first outlet in North India. North is an important region for us, contributing to around 30 per cent of total pick-up sales in the country. To begin with, we will start with a production capacity of 50,000 units and later scale it up to over 1 lakh units per annum,".
