      India-bound Mercedes Benz S-Class Cabriolet, UK prices revealed

      The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet UK prices have been revealed. Shown at 2016 Auto Expo that concluded earlier this year and now introduced in UK market, the vehicle is bound to be up on sale in India soon. UK customers can book the S 500 AMG Line for £110,120.

      The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet range is offered with three powerful engine options - The S 500 features a twin-turbo 4.6-litre V8 engine that generates a power output of 449bhp of power; the Mercedes-AMG S 63 gets a 5.5-litre V8 twin-turbocharged engine that generates 577bhp of power; while the top of the line S 65 features a 6.0-litre V12 twin-turbo with an output of 621bhp of power. The S 500 is capable of doing a 0-100 kmph in just about 4.6 seconds, the S 600 clock a 100 from standstill in just about 4.2 seconds, while the S 65 being the fastest among the lot can clock a 100kmph from a standstill in just about 4.1 seconds. All three models are electronically restricted to do 249kmph.

      However, the S 63 and the S 65 can be tuned to achieve 299kmph with the optional AMG Driver’s package. In terms of design, the S 500 AMG Line gets - 19-inch alloy wheels; LED headlights with Intelligent Lighting System and Adaptive High Beam Assist Plus; AMG body-styling; AIRMATIC air suspension with continuously variable damping control; satellite navigation with COMAND Online system including dual 12.3-inch TFT displays; AIRSCARF neck-level heating; AIRCAP; comfort heated and ventilated seats with electric operation and memory function; heated rear seats; leather upholstery; intelligent climate control; and an automatic boot separator.

      As for the Mercedes-AMG S 63, it gets - 19-inch AMG alloy wheels; Burmester surround sound system with 13 speakers; Driving Assistance package; AMG sports exhaust system; Nappa leather upholstery; front splitter in matt silver; AMG radiator grille with twin louvre in matt silver and AMG chrome-plated twin tailpipes.

      In addition to features from the other two, the S 65 additionally offers - 20-inch alloy wheels; ‘V12 BITURBO’ lettering on the front wings; designo Exclusive Nappa leather with diamond quilting; illuminated door sill panels with ‘AMG’ lettering; heated steering wheel; Night View Assist; head-up display, Burmester 3D surround sound system with 23 speakers, LED Intelligent Light System with Swarovski crystals and AMG sports exhaust system with two polished chrome twin tailpipes.

      For the UK market, the S500 is offered for £110,120.00, (Rs 1.04 Crores) the S 63 is offered at £135,675.00 (Rs 1.28 Crore) and the S65 is offered at £192,805.00 (Rs 1.82 Crore) (All prices, on-road UK). In India, however, the prices may be vastly different with the heavy customs duty. We might only get the S500 Cabriolet at the time of launch, which was displayed at the Expo. The price should be in the range of Rs 2.25 crore to 2.5 crore ex-showroom.
