      Hyundais neo Elantra Fluidic is finally here, officially launched across the country

      The South Korean car maker, Hyundai Motor India Limited, has added a new model in its Indian portfolio with the launch of neo fluidic Elantra on August 13, 2012. The latest offering from the country's largest passenger car exporter and second largest maker comes as a complete package of advanced design aesthetics, luxurious interiors, futuristic top-notch features and best-in-class technology.

      The new fluidic sedan from the auto maker is offered across seven variants, combining both petrol and diesel options. Hyundai has offered three petrol trims of its new sedan, namely S M/T, SX M/T and SX A/T with a price consideration of Rs. 12,51,000, Rs. 13,74,000 and Rs. 14,74,000, respectively. On the other hand, the diesel models are offered in the same three aforementioned trim levels along with an additional base variant. The base model and the S M/T costs Rs. 12,91,000 and Rs. 13,64,000, respectively, whereas SX M/T and SX A/T bears a price tag of Rs. 14, 85,000 and Rs. 15,85,000, respectively.

      At the launch ceremony, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Motor, B.S. Seo, quoted, “The Elantra has received an overwhelming response worldwide. We are confident that it will raise the bar and set a new benchmark in the executive car segment in India. With contemporary styling, design and all the advanced features the neo Fluidic Elantra will give an immense driving pleasure and comfort to the customers in India.” He further added, “The launch of the neo Fluidic Elantra in the executive segment makes Hyundai a full line-up manufacturer.”

      The Elantra Fluidic has been present in the global markets from quite some time and has been winning accolades along the way. The model has been honoured with the title of the “2012 North American Car of the Year” in the Detroit Auto Show.

      The neo Elantra Fluidic features the 'Fluidic Sculpture' of Hyundai, which provides aerodynamically enhanced designing to the model. This new designing culture from the Hyundai Motor emphasises on the amalgamation of the human co-existence and the philosophy of sustainable growth, which can be derived from the endless evolution of the nature. Personifying these principles, the new launch from South Korean car maker perfectly aligns the wind strokes with the surface of the car to deliver an impression of linear movement.

      Fifth generation model of the Hyundai Elantra offers several cutting-edge features to the buyers, including front ventilated seats and rear parking camera. Advanced safety features like Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), silica tyre and solar glass are also packed within the new model. Besides, the car also boasts of advanced technologies like smart key along with push button start, 10-way adjustable driver seat replete with lumbar support, dual zone Fully Automatic Temperature Control (FATC), auto cruise control and automatic headlight control, among others.

      On the grounds of comfort and convenience too the car does not fail to impress the onlookers with its electrically adjustable and heated Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs), which are adorned with turn indicators. It also comes loaded with rear air conditioning vents, cooled glove box, eco driving indicators, sound system with USB, AUX-input and iPod user interface. The essence of music system is further enhanced by the presence of audio and bluetooth controls on the steering as well as the centre rear armrest of the car.

      The South Korean auto marque has always been committed to the safety and security of its passengers and thus the latest neo Elantra Fluidic is no exception. The car comes loaded with high-end safety features such as VSM, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC). Besides, the car also has 6 airbags, including the side airbags, curtains and speed sensing auto door lock to its buyers. In order to facilitate a safe and secure parking, the new Elantra Fluidic incorporates rear parking sensors and camera with display on Electro Chromic Mirror (ECM).

      The petrol version of Elantra holds a 1.8 litre dual VTVT engine, whereas its diesel model serves on a 1.6 litre VGT CRDi powertrain. The former is capable of producing 147.4 bhp of maximum power and 177.5 Nm of peak torque, whereas the 1.6 litre diesel motor is built to produce 126.2 bhp of power and 259.8 Nm of torque. Both the units come mated with an option of 6-speed manual and automatic transmission systems.

      The 1.6 litre diesel motor offers an ARAI tested mileage of 22.7 kmpl, while the petrol unit covers a distance of 16.3 kmpl, which is also ARAI tested. These figures ensures that the neo Elantra Fluidic is the most fuel efficient sedan in its segment in both petrol and diesel options. The car maker also offers the new car with best-in-class warranty of four years or 1,00,000 km, whichever comes first.
