In a bid to offer a variety of option to the car buyers in India, the Indian unit of Korean Auto giant Hyundai Motors is planning to launch the lower variants of its popular mid-size sedan Verna in automatic transmission version. At present, Hyundai Verna sedan is available with automatic transmission only in the top end variant – Verna SX (Optional).
The new automatic transmission version will be offered in lower trims of 1.6L diesel variants of the company. At present, the automatic version of the Verna Diesel accounts for over 10 percent share of the total sales Verna sedan in India.
As per the company, its dealers across India have been receiving customer enquiries related to the launch of starting range variants of Verna diesel in automatic version. The existing Verna diesel automatic is way costlier as compared to its manual counterpart, carrying a price difference of Rs 75,000.
Being the only car coming in diesel plus automatic configuration in its segment, the top end Hyundai Verna diesel automatic is already very popular among the car enthusiasts. The further addition of auto transmission in the lower priced diesel variant will further boost the sales of this model in the Indian market.
