KTM-owned bike brand Husqvarna has a gone ahead to release a teaser for 701 Supermoto, its upcoming bike. According to several reports, this bike was seen testing in Spain a few months back along with the Enduro version. Husqvarna has created an entire package for the initial promotion of this bike, which includes a video and microsite dedicated to just 701 Supermoto. In an interesting sequence of shots, one can see the 701 Supermoto riding on ice featuring tyres with studs. The end of the video happens with a tag line that says “In Search of the Essence”.
Sources have claimed that Husqvarna will be looking to introduce this bike within a few months. As far as the pricing is concerned, Husqvarna 701 Supermoto is likely to be priced the same as KTM 690 SMC R as both these bikes share mechanical and cosmetic components. The Husqvarna 701 Supermoto is powered by a single cylinder four-stroke engine that has a displacement of 690 cc. It is capable of producing peak power of around 67 BHP. This bike weighs 145 kg and that allows it to accelerate better than its KTM sibling.
India seems to be a potential market for Husqvarna even though the higher-end KTM models are not likely to be launched. In fact, Bajaj will be looking to bring these Swedish bikes to India and a possibility of them getting manufactured in the sub-continent cannot be ruled out, sources have claimed.
