The sales figures disclosed by the automaker revealed a dip by 7.17 percent in July with sales totalling at 4,386 vehicles. In the month under review in 2011, the sales scored by the company were 4,725 units.

In the month of July this year, the automaker sold 1,843 units of its highly popular executive sedan, Honda City along with sale of 1,715 units of its trendiest offering in the hatchback segment, Honda Brio.

Moreover, the premium segment hatchback, Honda Jazz reported a mediocre sale of 598 units, while the premium sedan, Honda Civic clocked sales of 138 units. Of the total sales for July, Honda Accord, the premium compact car claimed a share of 39 units and the sturdy SUV, Honda CR-V totalled sales of 53 units.

The sales of Honda were highly discouraged mainly due to the absence of diesel powered vehicles in the Indian auto market, further contributed by the mounting fuel prices and interest rates. In comparison to July, the sales in the June declined considerably. The company is expecting the sales to revive during the much awaited festive season with the grand launch of the diesel run Honda Brio.
