After breaking its ties from Hero, Honda has never looked back. They are putting in as much efforts as they can in creating a lead among the India’s automobile manufacturing corporation. This is one of the reasons their sales and profit charts are achieving heights. They have marked the sky as the limit and have taken a step towards achieving the limit by proposing the manufacturing of a new plant. The land for this plant has been bought at a distance of 80 km from Ahmedabad and is spread over an area of approximately 250 acres, which is equivalent to about 250 football fields.
Honda is already the leading automobile manufacturing company in India, and after setting up this Scooter-Only plant, they would be producing the highest number of scooters each year, with an estimate of producing 1.2 million units each year just from this newly set up plant. This would be the only plant of its kind as so far, such a scooter-only manufacturing plant is not present in the subcontinent of India.
Honda already holds 55 per cent of share in India’s scooter market with an overall shareholding of 22 per cent in the two-wheeler segment, which is the largest amount by any single company. By expanding the horizons of this corporation, Honda will surely become one of the largest profits gaining company in the country, and would also generate thousands of new job opportunities. Thus setting up of this high-end plant is going to benefit the economy of the country as well as the company.
