Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI), India's fastest growing two-wheeler manufacturer, announced the accomplishment of 15 million customer in the 13th year of their operations in India. The latest 5 million customers were added within just 18 months after the company announced the 10 million customer milestone i.e. in July, 2012. While one may wonder the propellor behind Honda's stellar performance in terms of its foray in the mass motorcycle segment, and the answer lies in the demand for the Dream Yuga & Dream Neo. Other than that, Honda’s consistent leadership in the automatic scooter segment also had a big contribution towards this achievement.
Speaking about this massive achievement, Mr. Keita Muramatsu, President & CEO, HMSI said, “Together we have successfully given Joy of mobility to 15 Million Happy customers. We firmly believe customer experience and customer loyalty is priceless and will work very closely with our customers to enhance the same.”
HMSI first came into existence on 14 Dec, 1999 with its first production facility, located at Manesar, commencing operations in 2001. The company currently operates 3 manufacturing facilities: at Manesar (Haryana), Tapukara (Rajasthan) and Narsapura (Karnataka). And now Honda is ready to raise their total annual production capacity to 46 lac units by the end of 2014.
Honda's success can also be attributed to its endeavours towards the betterment of the society. Other than being the first in the industry to promote 'Fun, Safety and Environment' in India, HMSI has also trained more than 4 lac children and women till now and operates 'Traffic Training Parks' in Delhi and Jaipur.
