      Honda introduces the CNG option in City sedan

      Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL), country’s largest premium car manufacturer, has introduced a new version of its flagship model City sedan, which is attuned with a bi-fuel option to harmonise the lifestyle and demand of Indian buyers. Fuel prices in India have been increasing at a constant rate, which has forced the masses to look for an alternative fuel option. Owing to this, HCIL has launched a CNG version of City model, which delivers an unmatched performance and brilliant fuel efficiency.

      The new version has been offered in V grade and is equipped with a company approved CNG kit. Reportedly, the model is available at all the 45 Honda dealerships, which are based in 28 cities of the country wherein the CNG fuel option is available. The auto maker has authorised Rohan BRC as an official dealership for offering the CNG kit for Honda City.

      In order to add to the performance of the new version, the model has been assimilated with an optimised 1.5 litre 4-cylinder i-VTEC drivetrain. Besides, the suspension system of the model has been also modified to suit the additional weight of CNG cylinder for providing a similar driving experience to that of its petrol version.

      Assuring a complete safety of its passengers, the new CNG model is loaded with a large number of safety features, including passive and active credentials. The features provided within the new City comprise Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA), dual SRS airbags and pre-tensioner seat belts.

      Along with this, the new City 1.5V Leather, holding an Audio Visual Navigation (AVN) model, has been also introduced in the model’s line-up. The model features ultra-premium-one-class-above advancements, including touch screen audio visual navigation system, bluetooth connectivity, inbuilt DVD player, USB/I-Pod/Aux-in compatibility and leather upholstery. The model also boasts of leather wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob.

      With the introduction of new model, the complete line-up of City has been expanded to provide more options to the buyers. The model has been now available in several variants including Corporate, E, S MT/AT, V MT/AT, V (Leather with Sunroof) MT/AT, V (AVN) MT/AT (new) and V MT modified for CNG kit fitment (new).

      Expressing his views in the ceremony, Senior Vice President of HCIL, Jnaneswar Sen, quoted, “Honda City is one of the most successful car brand in the country and certainly the most desirable sedan in its category due to its unmatched values of performance, mileage and overall reliability. We are extremely happy to bring the City with a CNG option for our customers. Adapting the CNG technology is another step to keep low cost of ownership for our customers and will add to the appeal of the car, as it will not only be cheaper to run and maintain but also eco-friendly.”

      He further added, “In line with the preferences of our customers, we are delighted to introduce the new variant with Audio Visual Navigation which makes the car even more desirable in its category.”
