Swedish supercar manufacturer Koenigsegg has finally taken the curtains off its beast Regera at the Geneva motor show, which is going on in Switzerland at the moment. This exceptional machine, powered by a combination of a V8 engine and three electric motors, is capable of delivering a colossal output of 1782 BHP.

This car features a relatively mild front design as compared to Agera, its sibling vehicle. A rounded profile with huge air intakes, roof scoop, front diffuser and wrap-around windscreen comprise the front of the Koenigsegg Regera. On the rear end, the highlight of the Regera is the exhaust developed by Akrapovic that is placed in charging port. Reportedly, the rear wing of this car facilitates the generation of 450 kilograms of downforce at a speed in excess of 200 kmph.

The Regera sports a softer front-end design than its sibling, the Agera. At the front, the car gets a more rounded profile with large air intakes, front diffuser, wrap-around windscreen and a prominent roof scoop. At the rear, the new model gets an Akrapovic-developed exhaust, which exits from a rear diffuser above which is placed the Regera’s charging port. The large rear wing of the car is claimed to generate over 450kg of downforce at speeds in excess of 200kph. Koenigsegg has provided 19-inch and 20-inch wheels at the front and rear of the Regera, respectively, along with vented ceramic disc brakes in all corners.

This car is fitted with a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 powertrain and three electric motors. The V8 engine generates 1085 BHP worth of power while the three motors combine to produce another 697 BHP, making the entire output 1782 BHP. Quite incredibly, this statistic makes Regera the world’s most powerful production.

One of the most pivotal ingredients that boost the Regera’s performance is its lightweight set-up, mainly due to the hybrid facet. As per the company, Regera is a non-traditional hybrid, but it features the Koenigsegg Direct Drive (KDD) transmission system, which, reportedly, reduces energy losses by up to half. According to a report in Autocar, only 80 units of the Regera are going to be made.
