Ford relatively being a new competitor against Maruti Suzuki has been constantly thriving to gain a good footing in the domestic market. As part of three new cars planned for launch in the country by Ford, the company may launch the new Figo sedan sometime by the second quarter of this year. The company has reportedly already called for the vehicle from the Brazilian market for research and development purpose. Country's leading carmaker Maruti Suzuki has been planning on launching the Swift Dzire face-lift in the country sometime soon.
The Figo sedan is likely to be powered by two petrol engine options namely a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder and 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. The diesel version is likely to be powered by 1.5-litre 4-cylinder TDCi turbo diesel engine. Though five-speed manual transmission gearbox shall be offered as standard option, the vehicle might as well be offered with an automatic transmission. The upcoming Swift Dzire is likely to powered by existing engine specifications. As part of fresh upgrades, the vehicle may receive a couple of cosmetic upgrades. It may boast of new features like key-less access button, 10-spoke alloy wheels, new bumper with restyled air dam and chrome enclosure for fog lamp assembly.
Pricing details for upcoming Ford Figo sedan and Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire is unknown for now. The companies may make an official announcement in this regard at an official event that is due to be held just days before the launch.
