Fiat is contemplating its options to launch better diesel variants of its recently launched model, Linea. The company launched the car without much fanfare earlier this year and the model was surprisingly quite successful. The company has been clocking healthy sales for the model but customers are increasingly asking for better engines for both petrol and diesel models.
Lineas have been spotted along with Grand Punto near Pune taking the test rides. Test rides for an already launched car can only spell into one things, a better engine option coming up from the company. It seems that Fiat is testing the ew 1.6 Litre, 4 Cylinder 16 valve engine for Linea. The engine comes in two varieties a turbocharged 105 bhp unit and a 120 bhp with VGT and more than 300 nm of torque. It equals the fuel efficiency of 1.3 JTD that currently powers the existing model.
A new engine with better performance and more fuel efficiency would really make the car an irresistible option.
