Fiat India, a unit of the Italian car maker Fiat Spa that had recently parted its ways from its distribution partner Tata Motors in the Indian market, is now looking forward to bring its different vehicle brands in the Indian market. The company will soon be appointing a new Managing director in India.

Speaking to the Reuters, Mr. Enrico Atanasio, head of commercial operations at Fiat India Automobiles, said, "We are investigating all the brands. We have a huge number of brands and models that we can look at, including those from the Chrysler stable."

Mr. Atanasio will soon be taking charge of Fiat's Indian unit as managing director of the firm. He said that the company will now be expanding its portfolio in India by offering more options in the compact and mid-range sedan segments. He added, "Once we fulfill the network, we'll be looking at other segments above and below that."

Meanwhile, the company has announced its plans of opening as many as 100 showrooms in the Indian market by year 2014. The firm is targeting to have as many as 110 showrooms across 70 major cities of the country over the period of next 18 months.
