Fiat’s Punto based crossover, Avvetnura will be launched in India this month. Apart from sharing the same platform as Punto, the vehicle will also sport same features and front design as seen in the hatchback. With the addition Avventura crossover, the company expects to see a positive change in its monthly sales. From what is known about the vehicle till now, it is expected to be launched in five variants including three diesel and two petrol trims. Avventura seems relatively bolder than Punto Evo courtesy roof rails, rear mounted spare wheel, side cladding featuring ‘Avventura’ inscription and a couple of other things. Fiat will put on offer six colour options on the new Avventura range-Orange, Brinze, Red, Grey, Black and White.

Cabin too looks sportier than Punto Evo donning a relatively premium upholstery, contrast stitching and more features. Fiat has increased the ride height optimised driving position that enables a clearer view to the driver.
The entry level Active and mid level Dynamic variants will be housed with petrol engine. Power will be supplied through a 1.4 litre, four cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that is good for maximum power of 89 Bhp along with peak torque of 115 Nm. Diesel range that comprise of Active, Dynamic and Emotion trims will be employed with a 1.3 litre, Multijet engine that develops pinnacle power of 92 Bhp along with towering torque of 209 Nm. Expected to be priced between Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh, the crossover will compete with Volkswagen Polo Cross and Toyota Etios Cross in its segment. With the onset of festive season, it is likely that the crossover opens to a good response. Earlier launches from Fiat this year include facelifted Punto Evo hatchback and Linea sedan, however the response for both the vehicles has not been as expected by Fiat. Hopefully the new model will be able to lend a new life to the brand in India.
