The year 2014 has turned out extremely good for world renowned motorcycle manufacturer Ducati as it reported around two per cent growth in the global sales perspective. As per the statistical survey, the company had sold 45100 motorcycle units in 2014 alone, which made it the continuous fifth year in succession for the Italian company to make a profit.

Ducati is definitely riding on the great performance of their new Monster 1200 as well as the Monster 821 motorcycles. The Monster bikes turned to be immensely successful for the company as it sold nearly 16409 units of these naked motorcycles. This number is almost 31 per cent more than what was achieved in 2013. The company’s fully faired superbike 899 Panigale was the best-selling model in the faster segment of motorcycles of Ducati.

The United States of America remained the top market for the Italian manufacturer with a total of 8804 motorcycles sold in 2014 alone. The CKD production in South America was a major boost, especially in Brazil. However, bad news waited for the company in its home continent, where it showed marginal decline. This was compensated by double digit growth in the Australian, Asian markets and in the United Kingdom. An official statement was released from the company, which said, “This increase also stemmed from the introduction of new products that, despite market uncertainty, made a clear contribution to what has been an outstanding result for Ducati.”

According to the reports from Ducati, the company is all set to enter the Indian market in the next few months. The company had previously failed in India due to a poor network and sales marketing. However, the Italian company is determined to make amends this time over.
