Datsun India has released fresh sketches of the Redi-GO which will be unveiled later this week. In these sketches, the car looks almost the same as the concept except for the wheels. This will be the third car on the Nissan V platform to carry the Datsun logo on it.
The prototypes that have been spotted testing reveal that the production car may not be as dramatic as the concept. A lot of styling cues, though, have been carried forward in terms of the headlamps, the signature Datsun grille and the tail lamps. There are almost no shots of the interior available but going by the Datsun way, the cabin will be an extension of the Go and Go+. Being an A-segment car, the interior will be basic and functional.
The redi-GO will be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that powers the Go and the Go+. The engine develops 67bhp of power at 5000rpm and is mated to a five-speed gearbox that powers the front wheels. The redi-GO will probably be positioned below the Datsun Go to possibly take on the Tata Nano, the Hyundai Eon and the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800.
