Nissan India will launch the much-awaited Datsun Go+ sub-compact MPV on January 15, 2015. The bookings for the car will commence tomorrow, and one can book this sub-4 metre MPV at a token amount of Rs. 11,000. It will be the second Datsun product in the market, and will open an all-new segment in the Indian car market.

The Datsun Go+ MPV measures less than 4-metre in length, which would allow the carmaker to enjoy the excise duty benefits offered by the Indian government to the cars under 4 metre in length. It will be the most affordable MPV in the country and is likely to be priced around Rs. 4 to Rs. 6 lakh. The Datsun Go+ MPV is basically the Go hatchback with additional third row seats. It measures 3,995mm in length, 1,635mm in width and 1,485mm in height, and it has a decent wheelbase of 2450mm. It offers a decent luggage space of 48-litres, which can be increased up to 347-litres by folding the third row seats.

The front fascia looks identical to the hatchback sibling, while the side profile largely remains similar till the C-pillar. Its rear gets extra space and the height of the car has been increased to raise cabin space. Under the bonnet is the 1.2-litre petrol engine that also powers the Go hatchback. This engine is clubbed to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox which sends the power to front wheels of the MPV.
