It is definitely a bull run for the automakers in India and except for the rising commodity prices or shortage of parts, there is no holding back. As the July sales results pour in from various car manufacturers in India, it strongly reflects the robust sales figures by nearly everyone. Maruti Suzuki posted 33 percent jump in year-on-year sales in July where its overall monthly sales surpassed one lakh units in a month for the second time. Earlier, it had sold 1.02 lakh units in May 2010.

Mahindra and Mahindra also posted an increase of 24.31 per cent in total sales at 28,049 units for July this year. The company had sold 22,563 units in the same month of 2009, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) said in a statement. Sales of the Logan sedan went up by 69.37 per cent to 752 units during the month, compared to 444 units in the same month a year ago. M&M is now planning to introduce a new face lifted model of the car. It has currently launched a new marketing plan to sell Logan with a tagline “Logan Loves India.”

With festival season round the corner, automakers are looking at one of the best-selling seasons this year.
