BMW India, the leading luxury car maker in the Indian market, is all set to launch the crossover version of its popular sports utility vehicle BMW X3. The car is scheduled to be launched in the Indian market on 25th August, 2011. With the entry of new Crossover SUV type version, the BMW X3 series will be enabled to compete more promptly with the rivals like Audi Q5 and Mercedes Benz GLK Class. The new BMW X3 crossover is expected to be carrying a competitive price tag of Rs 42.2 lakhs.
The petrol version of the new BMW X3 will come powered by a 2.5L, xDrive25i engine that is capable of delivering a peak power of 206 hp along with a peak torque of 246 Nm. The car will take just 10 seconds to break the speed barrier of 100 km/h and can reach a top speed of 210 km/h
On the other hand, the diesel variant of new BMW X3 will be powered by 2.0L, turbo xDrive20d engine, which is capable of generating a maximum power of 176 hp along with a maximum torque of 350Nm. Same as its petrol counterpart, the diesel version take 10 seconds to break the speed barrier of 100 km/h. The top speed of the petrol BMW X3 is 200 km/h.
