Italian superbike manufacturer Benelli and DSK Motowheels had entered into a joint venture during the later part of 2014. According to reports, it was declared earlier that the bike maker will launch five models. Three models were unveiled at Indian Bike Week 2015 at Vagator in Goa. The bikes have reportedly reached the dealerships across the country and are due to hit the markets on 19th of March, 2015.
The models that are making a debut in the Indian market include bikes like Benelli TNT 300 – an entry level street fighter; TNT 600i – a mid-size naked bike; TNT 600GT – a mid-size sports adventure tourer; TNT 899 – a mid-size naked styling model and TNT 1130 R, a naked styled superbike. The bikes are powered by engines ranging between 300 cc to 1131 cc. This offers the Indian bike enthusiasts with a whole range of options as far as the powertrain is concerned.
The models, which were launched at the Indian Bike Week in February 2015, were the Benelli TNT 25, which is also known as the BN 251. The other two models, which were showcased, were Keeway Blackster 250 and Tre-k Amazonas. TNT 250 will be placed below the TNT 300. Also, Tre-K 1130 Amazons will take the top-end position along with TNT 1130 R. The Blackster 250 cruiser from the company shall be an offering by the company in the affordable range.
DSK Benelli India has targeted the top tier cities namely - Chennai, Bangalore, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi and Ahmedabad, for marketing the superbikes. Bookings and pre-orders have already commenced for the bikes and deliveries are expected to begin on the expected date of launch.
The Keeway Blackster is a cruiser bike and is expected to have a strong presence in the Indian market. The pricing is expected to be catchy and competitive against the Hyosung's Aquila GV250. Though, the Tre-K Amazonas is also expected to make a mark in the superbike segment, it would indeed receive a stiff competition from BMW R1200GS. DSK Benelli TNT 250 will be placed at the entry level segment and is expected to be competitively priced.
