Bajaj Auto, the Indian two-wheeler giant, has already announced to launch multiple new bikes under its Pulsar brand. After the RS 200, launched last month, the company is planning to launch the much-awaited Pulsar 200 AS in India. The vehicle is scheduled to launch on April 14, 2015, our sources reveal.

Like the Pullsar 200 RS (Racing Sport), the AS (Adventure Sport) is also based on the naked Pulsar 200NS. It will be slotted between the 200 NS and the new RS 200. The bike features half fairing along with a transparent tall windscreen up front. The fairing gets integrated projector headlamps and clear lens turn indicators. The front seems inspired from the Discover 150F, while rest of its design is largely identical to the NS 200. Most components including swing arm, rear section, seating position, disc brakes, suspension system, etc are directly sourced from Pulsar the Pulsar NS200.

The Pulsar 200 AS is powered by the same 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that also powers the 200 NS and 200 RS. This engine is capable of producing a top power output of 24.4PS and a peak torque of 18.6Nm. The engine is paired to a six-speed gearbox. Instead of Eurogrip rubber tyres, the 200 AS will get new MRF NyloGrip Zapper tyres. The Adventure Sport Pulsar will rival against the likes of Yamaha Fazer and newly launched Suzuki Gixxer SF. It is expected to be priced around Rs. 1 lakh.
