Maruti Vitara Brezza has been unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016. This is the first unveil on this edition of the Motor Show. Maruti Vitara Brezza is a compact SUV that will compete with the Ford Ecosport. The Maruti Vitara Brezza will be launched in the first quarter of 2016. This new SUV is powered by a 1.3-litre diesel engine, which has been named as 200 DDiS and it churns about 88bhp of power and 200Nm of maximum torque. This engine will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
The Maruti Vitara Brezza has a length of under four metres and it has a ground clearance of 198mm. The boot space on this compact SUV is 328 litres, which is a tad less than some of the premium hatchbacks. The development cost of the Vitara Brezza was Rs 860 crore and this compact SUV has about 98 percent of localisation.
Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa said, “Vitara Brezza is true to its category of a compact urban SUV. It is muscular, bold and sporty, with a distinct presence. It offers style and glamour, and features and customisation never seen before in SUVs in India.” The Vitara Brezza has keyless entry, push start and stop button and even Smartplay touchscreen system with Apple Play.
