      Aston Martin aims to sell 100 units of its cars in India by end of 2012

      Aston Martin, the UK based luxury sports car maker that has recently marked its debut in the Indian market, is aiming to sell more than 100 units of its cars in the country, by the end of next year. Receiving an overwhelming response from the Indian buyers, the company has already delivered 20 units of Aston Martin super cars in the Indian market.

      The world famous super luxury car maker displayed three of its most popular cars in the city of Ahmedabad on Saturday including Rapide, DBS and Vantage models. So far, the Rapide model has been the most demanded Aston Martin cars in the Indian market.

      Speaking to the reporters in the city of Ahmedabad, Performance Cars (division of Infinity Cars) Director Lalit Choudhary, official importers of Aston Martin cars in India, said, "In first year of launch, we expect to sell 30 units and by the end of next year we aim to sell close to 100 cars in India." Mr. Choudhary added that as people move up from the premium luxury range to super luxury car segment, the sales of cars priced above Rs 1.5 crore shall pick up, and Gujarat is increasingly becoming a good market for the luxury car segment.
