In a bid to improve its sales in the Indian market, General Motors India is planning to introduce several new cars and facelifts of its existing cars. Here is a list of all-new Chevrolet cars to be launched in the Indian car market in the next 2 years.
Chevrolet Trailblazer : The American automaker has announced that it will launch the Trailblazer SUV in the Indian car market this year. It is likely to come as a replacement for the slow-selling Captiva SUV and will rival against the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. The company has already imported a couple of units for testing purpose. Under the hood is a 2.8-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that is good for 180bhp and 470Nm of torque. Both the rear wheel drive and 4-wheel drive versions of the SUV will come to India.
Chevrolet Spin : To be slotted between the Enjoy and Tavera MPVs, the Spin MPV will be launched in the Indian car market in early 2016. The car is already available in markets like Indonesia, Thailand and Brazil. This MPV will be offered in three engine options - a 1.3-litre multi-jet diesel and 1.3-litre & 1.5-litre four-pot petrol engines. A five-speed manual gearbox will come as standard, while the 1.5L model might also get a six-speed automatic gearbox.
Chevrolet Camaro: GM India has showcased the Chevrolet Camaro at three editions of Delhi Auto Expo since 2010. Interestingly, the company has imported a left-hand-drive Camaro SS in India for R&D (Research & Development) purpose. The company might introduce the car as a halo product in India. It is powered by a 6.2-litre V8 engine that churns out a maximum power output of 426bhp. The Camaro is also available with a smaller 3.6-litre V6 engine that is good for 323bhp and 375.3Nm of torque.
