      2015 Volkswagen Vento Cup driver selection begin on February 14th

      2015 Volkswagen Vento Cup is one of the most anticipated event in the country. Registration for the event on www.volkswagen-motorsport.in had already commenced way back on 15th January 2015. Driver selection for the event would begin this weekend on 14th and 15 February at Indy Karting Track in Kharadi, Pune. Drivers participating the event would be selected on the basis on performance points earned during this weekends Go-karting rounds. The Go-karting rounds are a part of selection process that would be conducted by Rayomand Banajee, ace Vento Cup driver coach and national racing and karting champion. For thos who have not registered for Volkswagen Vento Cup driver selection round, the links are still open and can indeed opt for the first round of selection.

      For Round 1 selection contestants would be judged on various parameters like skill, consistency, understanding of racing techniques, speed, lap time along with learning abilities. Contestants are expected to make a payment of about Rs. 5,000 beside the refund deposit for the damage cost. Participants shall receive complete instructions on the selection process by Banajee who will provide an in-depth knowledge on how to maximize their potential on that day.

      Post clearing the first round, contestants are required to come for second round of Volkswagen Vento Cup driver selection that twould be held between February 28th to March 1st this year. Speaking more on the occasion, Mr. Sirish Vissa, Head of Volkswagen Motorsport India, said “This year, we are shifting our selection process to karting which is the grass-root level of driving cars. It brings out the raw skills of the drivers and helps us in identifying the real talent. We have already upped the game with the Vento race car this year and we expect to churn out some more champions through our Vento Cup programme this year.”
