      2015 Renault Duster facelift spied testing ahead of launch

      Renault’s much-anticipated 2015 Duster facelift has been spied testing ahead of its launch in the upcoming festive season. The facelifted model will receive minor cosmetic updates, while the more comprehensive change will come in the form of a new six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Expected to be priced around Rs. 12 lakh, the updated Duster (AT) will compete against the Hyundai Creta (AT) and Mahindra Scorpio AT.

      In the latest spyshots, the transmission of the vehicle was covered by a newspaper bag that was most likely Renault’s Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) transmission. This new gearbox with a low-ration mode will aid to the handling and ride quality of the vehicle. It will be exclusively offered with the 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine variants, coupled with 2WD (two-wheel drive) system. This engine is capable to produce 108.45bhp of power, while yielding a maximum torque of 245Nm. The 1.6-litre K4M petrol engine will also continue to be on offer. This gasoline unit with a five-speed manual transmission churns out a maximum power of 102.53bhp and 148Nm of torque.

      Talking about design, the 2015 Duster facelift will share its styling cues from the Brazilian spec-model. It will get a new headlamp cluster, revised front bumper, a single-slat chrome grille, smoked wheels, fog lights with blacked out surrounds, silver skid front and rear plates, revised body cladding, new LED taillights and rear end with new details. Inside, the car might receive an updated infotainment system and new upholstery and trim.
