      Nissan India, the completely owned Indian division of Japanese auto maker, seems to be preparing for the launch of a revamped model of its flagship hatchback Micra. Recently, a facelift model of Micra was introduced in Thailand and was highly appreciated by the industry experts. The reworked model of Micra hatchback is expected to feature a number of upgrades at exterior, including the redesigned bonnet, bumpers, head and tail lights, tailgate and surrounds of fog light.

      Coming to the technical configuration of the upcoming model, it is believed that the engine line up 2013 Micra will remain the same. The 1.2 litre petrol engine will be assimilated within the model, which will be either mated to a five-speed manual transmission or an optional Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) system.

      Sources close to the development process stated that along with head turning exteriors, the auto maker has also worked hard on the enhancement of Micra's interiors. Reportedly, the model will come equipped with a new centre console and a bigger 5.8-inch touch screen panel with Nissan’s advanced infotainment system. Industry experts are of a view that the model will sparkle at the Indian showrooms somewhere before the end of 2013 and will surely garner the attention of masses.

      It is expected that the entry level model of new Micra will be packed with features like remote central locking, power steering, electric front windows, CD player with USB, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) as a part of standard accessory. The mid level model will come with some of the additional features like 15-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth connectivity and automatic rain sensing wipers. Individuals going for top end model will be provided with climate controlled air conditioning system, parking assist, a bigger 16-inch alloy wheels, keyless start and folding mirrors, among others.

      In addition to the standard features in all the models, Nissan India is planning to offer a number of additional equipment like panoramic glass roof, new exterior colour packages and new wheel designs. Along with, the interested buyers can choose from a range of colours, customised exterior decals and interior details, including designer door mirrors, gear knob, floor mats and air vents.
