The all new Ford Fiesta sedan might be a recent entrant on Indian roads, but it has been present in the international market for a couple of years. Car manufacturers across the globe usually give a makeover to models that have completed three years in the market. Therefore, the all-new Ford Fiesta in the international arena could also benefit from this cycle and get a makeover in 2013. Although heavily camouflaged test mules of the new Fiesta are often seen doing the testing rounds, the first images of the Fiesta facelift have emerged only recently. As per the spy shots, the front fascia of the model is clearly reminiscent of that of the Fusion/Mondeo sedans.

The spyshots show the car to be facelifted and it has also got all-new grille and front bumper with narrower headlamps. All these changes are made on the car’s front end, while the overall body of the car remains the same. The upcoming version of the international Ford Fiesta sedan has also been fitted with new alloy wheels, while there is a possibility that the rear end of the car could get new tail lamps to give it a better look. Rear end of the car has been severely criticised and, therefore, it is expected that the manufacturer may take it into consideration as well while revising the model. Nothing is known about the changes made to the interiors of the car, though it is anticipated that the company would make some changes so as to suit the facelift.

Amongst various changes, it is expected that the arrival of the 1 litre, 3 cylinder EcoBoost turbo petrol engine would be the biggest change. This award winning powertrain generates highest power output of 120 bhp and maximum torque of 200 Nm while driving in overboost mode. It is anticipated that this engine would give more mileage compared to the 1.6 litre, four cylinder Duratec petrol engine, the one which is currently delivering power to the Fiesta sedan.

Although the makeover version of the Fiesta is expected to arrive globally in 2013, it is believed that Ford India would launch it in the Indian market sometime later. Despite being extremely capable and appealing looks, the car has not been able to do good business in India due to its high price. With the launch of the facelifted model, the all new Ford Fiesta will get another chance of making itself a hit in the Indian market.
