      2012 Auto Expo: India to see sports saloon BMW M5 in 2012

      The introduction of new sports sedan from Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW) in India, known as BMW M5, is the latest buzz in the automotive arena. The all-new M5 saloon will be exhibited at the forthcoming 2012 Auto Expo. BMW M5 price in India will be structured close to Rs. 99 lacs. In the elite segment for sports luxuries, BMW M5 in India will take on Audi RS 5, Audi R8 and Mercedes-Benz SL350. On release of BMW M5, a race will begin to claim the title of best super saloon.

      The modern sports sedan, BMW M5, is being released in India after BMW M3, belonging to the same genre, enthralled Indian audience. Identical to previous generations of M5s, the current edition's styling is subtle along with aggressiveness in exterior detailing. Lower air intakes, which include three gaping ducts flowing cool air into the radiator, oil cooler and turbochargers besides 19-inch alloy wheels come as standard features in the modern sedan.

      In terms of technical configuration, BMW M5 comes loaded with twin-turbo, 4.4-litre V8 engine that churns out a whopping 552 bhp power output. The automaker also confirmed that torque delivery of this edition has been boosted by 30 per cent, in comparison to the previous generation M5. Acceleration of the sports saloon M5 is beyond compare, which races from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.4 seconds.
