Ford Fiesta is one of the most successful entry level sedans in India and on 06 May 2010, Ford India will roll out its 100,000th sedan from its production facility near Chennai. Ford Fiesta was specifically designed for the developing countries - especially India - and remains one of the most sought after entry level sedans in the country.
"After a terrific sales record in March and April, the rolling out of the 1,00,000th Ford Fiesta is a truly special moment for Ford India. The event marks a new milestone for us," said Ford India President and Managing Director Michael Boneham. He also stated that the company feels extremely proud of the car in the Indian market and remains as one of the most significant product. “The popularity of the Fiesta testifies that more and more customers have been reassured by its quality, features and performance," Boneham stated.
Ford India sales surged in the last two months as first-time car buyers in the country's smaller cities snapped up its new compact Figo , in an encouraging sign for the U.S. auto maker's broader Asia strategy. The sales received boost with the launch of its new small car Figo in the Indian market. It sold 7,509 cars in April which is three times more as compared to April 2009 sales.
