      Volkswagen UPs the Frankfurt Show

      The largest car show in the world i.e. the Frankfurt International Motor Show recently seemed to provide the stage to the popular automobile brands. The world`s famous car makers showcased their creations on a massive scale especially in terms the area used. One such car maker, Volkswagen, was an active participant with a mighty 8,893 square metres stand, which managed to accommodated more than 50 vehicles, 2,100 lights and approximately 80 kilometres of cables.

      The Volkswagen stand witnessed the public debut of its all-new Up! city car along with the launch of the recently unveiled new generation Beetle and the new Tiguan SUV. In addition, the lately manifested Golf Cabriolet, which is already a part of the Ireland auto market, is being staged at Frankfurt.

      Volkswagen's NILS, a single-seat electric commuting vehicle concept was also unwrapped for its world premiere. This concept car is a complete package with features like an aluminium space frame, wing doors, free-standing wheels, explicit performance of a sports car that too in a silent way and zero emissions.

       

      The New Volkswagen Up
       

      The creative and nostalgic creations by Volkswagen were also for everyone to see in the show. It premiered models like the Beetle R concept, Beetle Fender, Polo R-Line, Tiguan R-Line, the Phaeton along with the sports model of the Polo R WRC.

      However, Up! stole maximum limelight among all other vehicles that were a part of the Volkswagen stand. The Up! was representing the company in the small car segment in an entirely different way with its design speaking volumes. Although a compact car, Up! offers satisfying space and comfort, making it a suitable option in cities. The small city car is expected to launch in Europe by this year end.

      There are three versions that are available for different budgets and needs. Take Up! is the base model of the car, Move Up! is a comfort-oriented model and High Up! Is the top-end version. During the market launch of Up!, High Up! would feature two more variants under its belt namely Up! Black and Up! White. Frankfurt Motor show not only witnessed the debut of Volkswagen Up! but also unveiled the new generation of three-cylinder petrol engines that would featur in Up!. The engine is capable of offerings outputs of 60bhp and 75bhp.

      Volkswagen proved that it was in no mood to rest on the laurels earned by Up! and thus, showcased the new sleeker and sharper looking Tiguan SUV.

      Thus, with the breaking of covers of a number of creations, Volkswagen hopes to compete as a real contender in every segment.
