      Volkswagen Group anticipates record breaking sales this year too

      Volkswagen Group, the Germany based auto giant securing the position of being the second largest carmaker internationally is forecasting to repeat the record setting success of the year 2011 this year too. The initial two months of 2012 have already witnessed rising sales by a whopping 7.7 percent.

      With a huge sales volume of 8.3 million vehicles registered by the multinational automotive group in the year 2011 and expansion of the market share from 11.3 percent to 12.3 percent in the same period, the company has strengthened its global base to exceed the 8.3 million sale mark.

      The Chairman of the Board of Management, Volkswagen Group, Mr. Martin Winterkorn announced during the presentation of the financial statements for 2011 that the company is steadily inching towards achieving the set 2012 sales targets enabling it to attain a pinnacle in the global automotive scenario.

      The automaker’s sales recorded in passenger vehicles segment are in tandem with sales of its commercial vehicles. The sales of passenger vehicles increased by 13.1 percent while the sale of the commercial vehicles surged by 21.4 percent during the year 2011. Even the profits from operating activities rose double fold in the last year following lower input costs and higher sales of diverse auto brands.

      With new and exciting launches including Audi A3 and Golf among over 40 other models, the focus is centered on offering customers the highest quality of vehicles to enhance customer satisfaction that would ultimately earn for the automaker high profits and sound financial status.
