shall have a top-down approach in Indian markets and shall have products as

According to the President and Managing Director of
Volkswagen India, India is a huge strategic market for us and we will work
towards having a product in every segment using a mix of imported completely
built-ups, assembling here or manufacturing locally.
Moreover, the company is also looking for local partners
and has also plans to build a vendor park for its suppliers in India at its 575
acres Chakan plant. This would allow the vendors to be close to the production
facility and shall keep its project on time and under budget.
Last year, we made some 6.2 million cars globally, and
Indian vendors who fit the quality requirements have the opportunity to be part
of our growth in future, Mueller added.
The company has already identified components that it would
procure from Indian vendors and plans to keep its production line most
competitive and world-class.
