TVS Motors has started testing the Jupiter scooter equipped with a front disc brake and fuel-injection. These new variants might be soon launched for the Indian market with a slight price hike.
The test mules spotted near Coimbatore were spotted without camouflage albeit with these changes. Both the scooters had O2 sensors and no choke lever hinting that it is equipped with a fuel-injected system. One of the test mules also sported a disc brake in the front.
Powered by an 110cc single cylinder engine that produces 7bhp of power and 8Nm of torque, the TVS Jupiter has tasted a fair bit of success for the manufacturer. It has earned a position in India’s top-ten list of two-wheelers in terms of sales in a short span of time. The addition of these new features should make the Jupiter a better package. Let's hope the price hike is minimal making it still a value proposition for people looking to buy a new scooter.
