      Triumph launches new 800cc XR

      The British manufacturer has launched the third bike in its adventure motorcycle Tiger range in India. Its boasts of a 3 cylinder 800 cc engine which produces 94 bhp and 79 Nm of torque. The bike is equipped with gizmos like traction control, ABS and a seat which can be adjusted up to 20mm. Triumph has priced it an ex-showroom price of Rs. 10.5 lakhs.

      Use of ABS totally depends on the rider as he can switch it off anytime he wants. The adventure bike has 17 inch wheel at the rear and 19 inch in front along with Showa suspensions. It sports a huge radiator under the fuel tank and an exhaust pipe which looks to be covered in copper colour. The manufacturer has claimed 17% better fuel efficiency than the rest of the bikes in the Tiger range.

      The bike is also equipped with a 12V socket which is capable of charging mobile and tablets. With trip computer and cruise control, the bike is loaded with modern gadgets which a person might need while travelling long distances. Tiger XR has been launched in 2 dual tone and 3 single tone colours, namely, Phantom Black-Crystal White, Caspian Blue-Crystal White, Caspian Blue, Phantom Black and Crystal White. Tiger’s bigger sibling is also available in India, which goes by the name Explorer and is sold at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 17.9 lakhs. The new Tiger will be facing Ducatio Hypermotard and Benelli Tre-K 1130 Amazonas in the adventure motorcycle range.

      With XR, the total number of Triumph motorcycle on sale in India is now 14 and the company has sold around 2,000 units in its first 18 months of operations in the country. It recently opened a new showroom in Indore, which marked its presence in Madhya Pradesh and is soon going to open up another in Jaipur.
