Expressing his views on the introduction of a new model, the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for Marketing and Commercial, Sandeep Singh said, “Further adding to the Fortuner’s strength of unmatched road presence and luxury, we have now introduced the five-speed automatic transmission. The 4x2 automatic transmission is extremely popular, it has been highly appreciated by the customers. The five-speed AT will further add to the drive quality and comfort. We introduced the Fortuner TRD Sportivo as a limited edition in October last year. Looking at the overwhelming response and its popularity, we have now regularised this grade for all those looking for a uniquely sporty image.”

Besides, the limited edition TRD Sportivo Fortuner model, which was introduced somewhere in last year, has been now added to the auto maker’s regular product line-up. The TRD Sportivo variant is packed with several additional features like spoilers at front and rear bumper, a TRD Sportivo emblem and rear roof spoiler. This version is available in three different dual tone colours, namely Super White & Grey, Silver & Grey and White Pearl Mica & Grey. Reportedly, the new Pearl White Mica colour is available in all the trim levels.

Coming to the price of new Fortuner five speed automatic gearbox variant, the 4x2 model is offered with a tag for Rs. 22.3 lakhs. On the other hand, the 4x2 AT TRD Sportivo variant, which features five-speed auto transmission, is available for Rs. 22.9 lakhs, while the 4x2 MT TRD Sportivo comes at a price of Rs. 21.9 lakhs (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). Industry experts believe that the launch of a new five speed automatic transmission model will surely contribute to the dominance of Fortuner in the Indian auto market.
