      Honda India launches HET equipped new models of Activa, Aviator and Dio

      Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI), a completely owned subsidiary of Japanese automotive player Honda Motor Co., has updated its domestic scooter line-up with the launch of reworked models of Activa, Aviator and Dio. The company has affirmed that its upgraded automatic scooter portfolio will deliver superior fuel efficiency as compared to their erstwhile variants.

      As per reports, the replaced Activa, Aviator and Dio scooters come equipped with the cutting-edge Honda Eco Technology (HET). The HET project has been jointly developed by the Japanese automotive giant's Research & Development (R&D) divisions based in Japan, Thailand and Manesar (India). Honda has confirmed that HET improves fuel consumption and reduces friction inside the engine, besides optimising gear transmission, in order to deliver superior fuel efficiency by 11 per cent, as compared to the conventional technology. Further, the company will utilise HET platform for developing a range of scooters and bikes from 110 cc to 1,200 cc.

      HMSI has revealed that its HET equipped 109 cc 2013 Honda Activa RS scooter will deliver fuel efficiency of 60 kmpl, a betterment of 6 kmpl from the previous model's mileage of 54 kmpl. The company now also offers it’s Activa in a new colour option called 'Wild Purple', along with the four existing options, namely black, red, grey and pearl white. HMSI's best selling product in Indian two-wheeler market also comes trimmed with anti-theft key lock shutter, Combi-brakes and an 18-litre under-seat storage facility.

      Further, the all-new 2013 Honda Aviator scooter will feature the same engine as its predecessor model. The automatic scooter is now available to the domestic audience in a new metallic colour- 'Royal Gold', along with the present white, black and red colour options. The new Aviator also comes fitted with 12-inch wheels, 190 mm front disc brakes and ABS moulded body parts. From now on, the Honda Activa RS will carry a price tag of Rs. 47,188 at the company's retail outlets. Further, the Aviator RS and Aviator Deluxe scooters are offered to the Indian buyers at price tags of around Rs. 48,000 and Rs. 54,000, respectively (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
