      Toyota Launches New Land Cruiser Prado in India

      Toyota Kirloskar Motors has introduced all new Land Cruiser Prado diesel in India. Toyota is aiming to capture 10 percent market share in the SUV segment where it already is active with popular models like Innova and Fortuner. SUV segment is currently dominated by Mahindra models like Bolero, Scorpio and Xylo. Land Cruiser Prado was launched in India in 2004 and according to TKM Managing Director, Hiroshi Nagakawa, the model has exceeded expectations in sales figures.

      All new model of Land Cruiser Prado includes new 3.0L diesel engine and a new system for better stability in city driving as well as highway drives. It also features 3-zone climatic control, Down Hill Assistant Control, multi-information display and Vehicle Stability Control.

      "Our target audience is active businessmen, industrialists and socialites who want to make a style statement and are in the 35-45 year age group", Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director TKM said. The upgraded model will appeal to both genuine SUV lovers and those looking to upgrade to better models with enhanced maneuverability combined with enhanced interiors.

      The new model is priced at Rs. 52.74 lakh and will be available in 5 colours - white pearl crystal shine, silver metallic, grey metallic, greyish blue metallic and black.
