      Toyota grabs top spot in Motor Vehicles category

      Toyota, the automobile giant, has grabbed the number one spot in the category of Motor Vehicles Category of Fortune magazine’s list of the World’s Most Admired Companies. The company has also secured a 24th position overall, eighth in Effectiveness in Conducting Global Business and sixth in Community Responsibility. The only Japanese company to feature in the top 50, Toyota has done the hard work to achieve this feat. The survey is based on nine important attributes like global competitiveness, company’s global success, quality of management and others.

      Three major vehicles are sold by Toyota – Lexus, Scion and Toyota. The company has produced over 25 million trucks and cars in North America in last half-century and operates 14 manufacturing factories of which 10 are in the United States. It employs around 40000 people among which 32000 are from the US.
