The offered standard warranty of 4 years, which is applicable on all tractor trailers, multi-axle trucks and tippers of 25 tonnes GVW, features a cover for vehicle's driveline, including engine, gear box and rear axle. Moreover, the auto company has increased the warranty of 18 months on rest of the vehicles to 24 months. Interestingly, the auto maker has its moniker on 2 of every 3 tractor trailers, multi-axle trucks and tippers, with 25-tonne GVW or higher, in the country.

Speaking on this new move, the Executive Director - Commercial Vehicles at Tata Motors, Ravi Pisharody, said, “For close to 60 years now, Tata Motors has been a step ahead in offering new technologies, products and value added services. The 4-year warranty is another industry first, in our pursuit of partnering the customer through the lifecycle of the product. We believe that it is a perfect New Year gift to our customers.”

The standard warranty of 4 years is applicable on all those vehicles sold after January 6th 2013. The auto company has designed its new 4-year warranty system based on the study of lifecycle cost of more than 15 lakh Tata trucks and tippers running all across the country in different terrains and loading conditions. This new warranty scheme is supported by the entire dealership and service network of Tata Motors. The company has maintained over 1300 touch points across the country's length and breadth of the country. Interestingly, on the Indian highways, there is a touch point of Tata Motors on every 50 km.

Tata Alert, which is a highway assistance initiative of Tata Motors for medium and heavy commercial vehicles, is the reason behind extensive presence of auto company on all the national highways. Owing to ‘Tata Alert’, truck drivers are offered on-site breakdown assistance in just 4 hours after dialing 1800-209-7979, a toll-free service number.
