In a bid to boost its sales in domestic market Tata Motors is coming with two new products, one new variant of Nano and facelift version of Safari Storme. The first among the four vehicles to be launched is the all new Zest compact sedan that is slated to launch in India in the month of August.

After Zest, Tata Motors will spin off Tata Nano AMT variant followed by Bolt hatchback and finally facelift version of Tata Safari Storme will be spawned. Among the four vehicles, Zest and Bolt are attracting immense attention for obvious reasons. Both the vehicles were displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo held in February this year.

After a long gap of five years, the company is coming up with new cars in domestic market. While Zest is a completely new product, Bolt will be replacing ageing Vista hatchback. Also these cars have been designed in tandem with Tata’s DESIGNEXT design philosophy. Tata has also developed new Revotron engine that will be powering both the vehicles. Petrol range is likely to come armed with a 1.2 litre Revotron engine that is good for 84 Bhp while the diesel trims will get the renowned 1.3 litre Quadrajet engine sourced from Fiat. The diesel engine will be offered in two states of tune-75 Bhp and 90 Bhp. An automated manual transmission will also be equipped in Zest that makes it the first CS to come with AMT.

Tata’s petite hatchback Nano will also be offered with AMT, this is yet another attempt by Tata to lift sales of the cheapest car in the world. Tata Nano AMT launch will be followed by Zest launch. Besides incorporating AMT in Nano, the company will also instill various tweaks in the vehicle.

Rolled out in 2012, Safari Storme is up for a comprehensive makeover, under the hood, the SUV will get the 2.2 litre VARICOR engine borrowed from Aria. As automatic variant of Safari Storme is also on cards, a six-speed ZF gearbox will be mated to the engine. The SUV had been garnering low response ever since its induction in India, therefore through this overhaul, Tata expects to see surge in sales. Tata Motors has high hopes from these upcoming launches, hopefully it will help the auto maker to penetrate through slowdown and register positive sales.
