      Tata Motors global sales volume shoots up by 6 percent in June this year

      Tata Motors, the wholly owned multinational automotive unit of the Tata Group conglomerate, has reported a 6 percent surge in its sales across the globe with deliveries totalling 94,055 units in the month of June this year.

      The India based automaker scored soaring sales figures owing to a steep hike of 39 percent in sales registered by its British luxury brand, Jaguar Land Rover in comparison to sales tallied last June. The luxury brand shot up the sales volume with 28,215 vehicles in the month of June 2012.

      The elegantly poised luxury sedans badged under Jaguar marque showcased declining sales by 5 percent with sales figures standing at 3,829 units during the month under review. This plunged down sales was compensated with a major jump of 49 percent recorded by the sale of 24,386 units of the aggressively styled Land Rover vehicles.

      Globally, the passenger segment vehicles manufactured by Tata Motors marked a rise of 7 percent with sale of 46,159 units in June 2012. Moreover, the sales of commercial segment vehicles witnessed a jump by 6 percent at 47,896 units.

      Tata Motor’s international portfolio encompasses Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera commercial vehicle range, Tata passenger vehicles and Jaguar Land Rover.

      In its home town, the company is fiercely endeavouring to cruise through the sluggish market demand owing to the constraints emerged in the form of high interest rates, mounting fuel costs and lasting inflationary conditions.
