      Tata Motors global monthly sales surge by 26 percent, annual sales shoot up by 16 percent

      Tata Motors, a renowned brand in production of commercial and passengers vehicles at the global platform owned by the Tata Group corporate empire has revealed that the worldwide sales of the company for the year FY 2011-12 has shot up to 12,52,173 units marking a step rise of 16 percent as compared to the previous fiscal.

      As far as the monthly sales are concerned, the automaker has attained an impressive sale of 1,39,655 units in March this year with a surge of 26 percent in comparison to the sales recorded in the corresponding period last year.

      The sale in the passenger vehicles segment in the month of March 2012 was recorded at 75,864 units rising by over 41 percent than the sales in the month of March 2011. Even the commercial vehicle segment saw a marginal increment of 12 percent with sales of 63,791 units during this period.

      The premium automakers, Jaguar Land Rover wholly owned by the Tata Motors is considered to be a vital contributor to the sales scores in the international auto market with over 51 percent increase in sales figures that stood at 36,471 units in the month of March 2012.

      The off-road utility vehicles sold under the Land Rover marquee marked a sale of 31,128 units in March this year with a boost of over 53 per cent, while the sedans tagged with the Jaguar brand name has also witnessed impressive sales of 5,343 units with around 42 percent surge.
