      Tata experiences a global downfall of 6 percent in July

      The slowdown in the Indian automotive market has impacted giant Tata Motors July’s global sales figures too. The company has experienced a downfall of about 6 percent as compared to the previous year in the same month. It has manged to get total sales figures of 85,392 units, a reduction of 6 percent.

      When it comes to the sales of company’s luxury brand Jaguar Land Rover, the company maintained its numbers with sales figures of 19,119 in July. With these sales, Tata Motors has bucked the prevailing trend, as overall, luxury sedans sold in the previous month went 23 percent down as compared to the same month, previous year.

      The India based brand’s overall passenger sales in the local market recorded a fall of 38.30 percent. The company said that it could manage to get figures of 17,192 units as compared to 27,865 units done in the previous year, similar month.

      Tata Motors has seen a downfall in almost every segment as compared to the preceding year. For example, company’s latest offering Tata Nano’s sales went down by 64 percent, Indica by 32 percent, Indigo by 30 percent, while large cars Sumo, Safari and Aria fell by 2 percent.

      The segments that gave relief to the company included the light, medium and heavy commerical vehicles. Light commericial vehicles saw a hike of 22 percent, while heavy and medicum commerical vehicles recorded about 4 percent increment.
