The Japanese two-wheeler maker, Suzuki Motor Corporation, has recently showcased its new motorcycle Inazuma 250, which will be later introduced in the auto market of UK. Industry experts believe that sooner or later, the bike is bound to share the limelight of Indian auto market under the badge of GW250.

It is anticipated that Suzuki Inazuma 250 will come assimilated with a quarter-litre engine, having the potential to generate 24 bhp of maximum power. Reportedly, the new offering from the Japanese auto maker will have an overall length of 2145 mm with a wheelbase of 1430 mm. With a long wheelbase, the seating arrangement of the new Inazuma 250 will be fairly comfortable, offering ample space to both the passengers. To make the bike more suitable for the uneven tracks, ground clearance of 165 mm performs its job.

Considering the approach to be followed in UK, it is believed that Inazuma250 will be placed in the commuter vehicle segment. Analysts anticipate that the new motorcycle will hit the UK’s auto market somewhere in September 2012 with a price tag of around £3,499 (close to Rs. 3 lacs).

2012 Inazuma 250 shares its style and design from the naked bike model of the same manufacturer, 1300 cc B-King. The bike is not as spectacular as the models of Honda or Kawasaki; however its performance will make it stand apart from the rivals. The buyers in UK will be provided with an option of two colours and considering the Indian approach, industry experts believe that the same bike will be provided without many alterations.

India's GW250 will be a 250 cc motorcycle with single cylinder, imitating to the Suzuki's 1,300cc B-king, in terms of style. The Japanese brand has analysed the surge for demand in the 250 cc segment in India and GW250 seems to be a perfect vehicle as per the prevailing market conditions. In the Indian two-wheeler market, pricing has always been a major deciding factor for the success of any product and therefore, aggressive pricing besides style can help Suzuki boost its sales. Analysts believe that the company will route in its new powerful in India by the end of 2012.

In the current situation, Honda CBR250R, Kawasaki Ninja and the Hyosung GT250R are the only three bikes available in 250 cc segment of Indian auto industry. Motorcycle market of the country recorded a decent sales volume in 200-250cc segment with around 10,000 units sold in June 2012. On the other hand, with respect to the overall sales in motorcycles segment, the figures were less than even 1 per cent. Inazuma250 or GW250, whichever name suggested by the auto maker, seems to be a strong contender of the three available 250 cc models in India, which will surely increase the heat in the segment.

Since the auto maker is already rejoicing a dominant position in the Indian car industry, it seems Suzuki with a new model in its two-wheeler arsenal is gaming big for the pole position in this segment too.
