      Scania R 500 wins the 2012 Apollo CV 'Prime Mover of the Year' award

      The Indian arm of Scania, one of the world's largest commercial vehicle making automobile firms, has been felicitated with the esteemed 2012 Apollo CV 'Prime Mover of the Year' award for its R 500 6x4 heavy-duty puller. The prestigious award ceremony took place in Mumbai on January 7, 2013 and was presided by many big names of the commercial vehicle segment of Indian automobile market. Each year in a joint association, Apollo Tyres and CV magazine reward the excellence among Indian commercial vehicle segment of Indian auto market, with the Apollo CV Awards.  
       
      Scania R 500 6x4 heavy-duty puller won the title of '2012 Prime Mover of the Year' in the 'Over 40 tonne GCW' segment. The award was received by Sivakumar V., Sales Director, Scania Commercial Vehicles India, accompanied by Suresh Ekambaram, Director of After Sales and the Pre Sales Manager, Saravanan Malayandi. Further, Sivakumar acknowledged Nextgen Publishing and the 2012 Apollo CV award jury, for the prestigious award in his thanking note to the distinguished gathering, present at ceremony.
       
      Expressing his delight at being proud recipient of the honour, Sivakumar V., quoted, “This award is testimony to our investment to deliver the best products and the best product support in the industry as we continue to expand into global markets. It further establishes the success of our strategy to redefine India’s trucking industry by partnering with local experts to deliver practical and customer-friendly innovations tailored to the local market.”
       
      Reports suggest that Scania, the Sweden based commercial vehicle maker, has set aside a sum close to INR 2.5 billion as an investment for a Bengaluru-situated industrial unit this year. The company has also projected to sell annually around 2,000 trucks, 1,500 engines and 1,000 buses in the Indian auto market by the end of 2018.
