Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the country's largest passenger car maker, has unveiled the 2013 facelift model of its popular WagonR hatchback for the domestic buyers. WagonR has been among the company's best selling products in the Indian passenger vehicle market and will be seen in its fourth refreshed avatar this time.

Coming to interior and exterior attributes, the 2013 Maruti Suzuki WagonR comes trimmed with a number of cosmetic alterations, as compared to the current model. Further, the company has claimed that engine incorporated under the bonnet of new WagonR has been tweaked to deliver a better power and fuel efficiency. Overall, Maruti Suzuki's automobile engineers have kept the physical alterations at minimum, but the 2013 WagonR looks fresh and modern with its redesigned front fascia.

The WagonR facelift is powered with a 1.0 litre, 3 cylinder KB10 K-Series petrol engine, which churns out a peak power output of around 67 bhp along with a maximum torque delivery of 90 Nm. Evidently, the power and torque ratings remain unchanged, but Maruti Suzuki has affirmed that its reworked model will deliver superior fuel efficiency than its current model.

The WagonR's 'tall boy' design has been widely credited for the immense demand and popularity witnessed among the domestic car enthusiasts. More than 12.34 lakh units of WagonR have been sold in the Indian passenger car market, since its launch in 1999. Maruti Suzuki is yet to divulge the pricing of its revamped model, but industry sources suggest that 2013 WagonR facelift model could be at least 0.5 to 2 per cent expensive than the current model.
