Hyundai cars will not be sold through canteen stores department (CSD) henceforth. The Government of India has stopped these sales as the manufacturer failed to offer any discounts to the CSD.
The Ministry of Defence had issued a letter stating that Hyundai had failed to respond to the issue of discounts over the Creta. Due to this, the Government of India had to take this decision of halting the sales of the Creta through CSD. Additionally, the authorities have also stopped the sales of the Elite i20 and the Verna from these outlets as well.
The servicemen in the armed forces of our country buy different goods from these CSDs across India. There is a variety of goods that are offered to the defence personnel at a discounted price. Since, there are no discounts on these Hyundai vehicles, they have been dropped from the CSD's list. However, the company is in talks with the concerned authorities and will soon take a firm decision over this matter.
